I was glad to help her out and always love a deal. Especially when that deal is free!
Then they sat in my garage for all of June and most of July.....
Until one day when I was cleaning out the garage (which happens on a weekly basis since it is summer break), I noticed the pots sitting high up on a shelf all alone so I brought them in the house, cleaned them out and did this with them:
I just added fake or faux if you will, plants to them and voila! I love the galvanized look against the green of the plant!
Then yesterday I was at Wal Mart with Annie school supply shopping ( I know! Already.....sigh) and I spotted these bad boys in the home/garage sale/sign area:
Self adhesive numbers!!! Aren't these gorgeous??? Just beautiful.....if you know me at all, you know by now that I have a love affair with numbers. I don't know why but I just do and anytime I see any sort of decor, table, pillow, sign on the side of the road that contains any type of number (or letter for that matter), I get weak in the knees. This is probably why I drool over Cricut or Silhouette machines. Because you can create numbers and letters on these babies. And you don't even need a reason. :)
So these guys were 5 bucks at Wal mart and while it wasn't a needed purchase, I ended up getting it because I knew that I could do something with it and I would definitely regret it when I went back next week and they were gone. Which, knowing my luck, they would be. Long. Gone.
I came home and it took me all of three hours of sitting on my kitchen counter glaring at me to figure out how I was gonna use them.
I love the number 4, mainly because it is the size of our little family. :)
I feel a little sorry for the number 0. No one ever just uses it by itself.
And I always root for the underdog. :)
My lovely neighbor also gave me some smaller galvanized tins as well:
And this is what I decided to put in these guys:
These things always seem to end up in my junk drawer and then I can't open the drawer to get to the real junk that I use on a daily basis. Here is a tip- buy your kids craft supplies for around the house (glue, crayons, scissors etc) when back to school shopping is going on. The 24 count box of crayons right now? 40 cents each. In October? 2 bucks. Same with glue sticks and glue; these glue sticks were in a two pack for 99 cents!!!
This is in the back hall of my home by the laundry area where everyone passes by it on a 200 hundred times a day basis (it is also right next to the only downstairs bath, go figure...) so now we can see it and think more about making some fun schtuff instead of staring at the TV. :)
Cost of this little project- Five dollars!! ( and that is for all of the numbers of which I still have at least 20-30 more!)
Happy Weekend friends!!!
