Have I mentioned that before?
Oh, I have?
So anyhoo, when I was muddling through No Spend August, I came across this great idea on Pinterest thanks to the blog Homemade Mamas.
Homemade Febreeze.
Yep.
If you love this stuff like I do, you also know that Febreeze aint cheap.
Nope.
Like four dollars a bottle.
I know you are mentally eye rolling right now but four dollars is a lot to spend for something to make your couch and curtains smell good for like, what. 10 minutes???
The past year or so we have been buying our "febreeze" from Dollar Tree and although I love me some DT, their "febreeze" leaves a lot to be desired.
Sorry DT, we all can't be perfectly perfect. :)
So when I ran across this recipe, I squealed: fabric softener- check!; baking soda- check!; hot water- check!
Sounds like it fell under my no spend criteria!
Here is the official recipe:
Homemade Febreeze
2 cups warm water
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup liquid fabric softener
Mix together and put in a spray bottle.
It will look like this when you are done.
Oh and it smells delightful!!!!
Thanks to Homemade Mama's for this life changing recipe.
And to think that the for the cost of fabric softener (which runs around 3-5 bucks a bottle) that you will have your own "febreeze" for a year or more!!!

I have to try that out. I'm not a big fan of the Febreze smell, but love fabric softener like Gain!
The great thing about this recipe is that once you spray it on, it is dry to the touch within minutes. With febreeze, surfaces are wet for a lot longer....:)
