Workin' With What Ya Got- Halloween Number Sign

I get so excited when I can create fun accents or decor for my home using things I had just lying around. I created my Workin' With What Ya Got schtick last year solely on that principle because for years, when I had expendable income, I would see cute crafts in magazines or books and run out to get the materials for it. They were indeed cute but something about it left me a little hollow.....or maybe that was the sound of my wallet after buying said materials. Anyway, I love the feeling it gives me when I can create new things from old things and not spend a dime. I am actually toying with the idea of starting to host my own link party this winter based on my Workin' With What Ya Got idea but in researching link parties I have found that they cost moola to host. Not really within my savin' money theme so I am still on the lookout for free link party host sites and when I find it, you all will be the first to know!!

On to the no moola spent craft!!

I had this frame:

I also had this Halloween-ish scrapbook paper from last fall.

Then I found this paper matte from an old frame.

If you ever get rid of a picture frame and it has the matte on it, save the matte! You can always use it for another project, trust me. I have had this one for over two years just waiting for a project.

Then here are my adhesive backed numbers that I got at Wal Mart this past summer. I have used these puppies on several projects including my galvanized tins.

And these are wall adhesives that I found at Dollar Tree earlier this spring and put them aside knowing that I could find something cute to make with them.

Get out your glue stick....

I cut the scrapbook paper to fit the size of the frame.
Then I glued the matte to the paper.
I then added the wall decor adhesives and topped them with the numbers 31 to represent October 31st.

I put them all together and came up with this:

Put them under the glass in the frame and here's what it looks like when you are done:

And in its new home on the mantel:

Cost for me to make?
                                                                      Not one cent.
:)

Cost for you to make:

frame- go to Goodwill and find scads of these babies, all 4 bucks and under.

scrapbook paper- one sheet shouldn't cost more than 50 cents.

wall adhesive decor- one dollar at DT and they carry these all the time. You can find them next to the automotive and battery section at mine.

numbers- I got mine in a package of 25 numbers for 5 dollars at Wal Mart. They are back by the garage sale section/ spray paint department.

Less than 8 bucks for an adorable craft for Halloween!!
