Kids Craft- Making Their Artwork The Center Of Your World

I have had a kids artwork wall in my home since 2005. That was when my oldest started kindergarten and although I always displayed her artwork throughout the house, she was coming home from school with some choice artwork that I wanted a special place to put it, not just on the fridge. I even framed some of her artwork:

OK so Annie made this in kindergarten art class. Yeah, I couldn't even do this well now. In my forties. Sheesh. So you see why I had to frame it, right? Gorgeous AND I know the artist well AND it was cheap AND well, it was the best piece of artwork I could have ever found, right?? :)

Well this piece gave me an idea back in 2005. To create a wall dedicated to Annie's artwork and how proud she would be to show her friends and family when they came to her home. Since the birth of Ellie, we have continued the wall and added her artwork as well. It is my most favorite wall in the entire house and most who visit too.

So here is the project that got the wall started after the initial kgarten offering seven years ago and it is so easy that you will scratch your head and wonder why you didn't have your kids do this sooner!

You will need the following:

- art canvases. I got these at Hob Lob (in the artist section).

- paint brushes (no fancy ones, these were in the kids art section).

- paint (washable is best unless you have a death wish with your furniture..again got these in the kids art section).

You will also need the following as well:

Two sets of willing and able hands. :)

Yeah, sprained it during winter break.

A week before winter soccer starts.

Now put the canvases in front of the willing and able hands and let them do all the work:

Oh remember last week when I posted about my mercury glass Dollar Tree vases?

I wanted to post a better picture so you could really see the mercury glass better.

It turns out that lighting makes all the diff.
