Workin' With What Ya Got- Little Girlie Accent Piece

I was actually working on another project I had going on while I came up with this baby since I usually go to my "craft cemetery"...named by sweet reader Amy....in the basement which is just a shelf where my old projects go to die or wait around for another new life. This includes old picture frames, vases that no longer have any life left in them, scrapbook paper I have collected over the years...you get the drift. So I was down there looking for something for the other craft I was working on at the time and saw these items:

Cutie patootie scrapbook paper....

An old fave picture frame....with a cute printable I got for free last year and which I am saving for another day in my "craft cemetery".

And a metal letter E I got at Hob Lob last year for 50 % off for another project that never really happened.
But I only spent 3 bucks on the thing so its all good. :)

So I painted the E Leafy Green from Rust Oleum.

Then......

I cut the scrapbook paper to fit into the frame.

Then I took the glass from the frame and put it behind the paper so that there is no glass on the front of the frame and that it gives the paper a hard backing because you will be putting the heavy E onto this space.

Then I did something a little unconventional because as is usually with Workin With What Ya Got fashion, I did not have any of my usual heavy duty glue around. I also did not want to go out and buy anything for this project as the whole gist of this theme is to work with what you have lying around so this is what I did:

I used a glue gun.

                                                                         EEEEEEEK.

Yes, I know glue gun's are great things and all but with something like this I don't know that I would have went with this option first.

But so far so good, it has held up and it is high up on a dresser so it won't hurt anyone if it does decide to fall.

***update.....it is still holding two weeks later!!!***
***Even more update....it's still holding a year later!!!***

Here is the final product!!
