Fun Craft- Pom Pom Wreath

My friend Melissa left me some things when she was getting ready to move to California a few weeks ago and she left me this wreath:

It even still had the tag on it!!

Normally when I have things like these laying around, I completely forget about them but not this puppy.

I had big plans for him.

So I got some pom poms at the craft store:

...because I love pom poms.

More than is probably normal.

It takes me back to a simpler time...pom poms were HUGE in the late 70's and early 80's....who remembers pom pom socks??

So I wanted to pay homage to old school poms and create a cool wreath with them.

Without looking like it was something I created in art class circa 1978.

 I took the following tools:

Glue gun and glue sticks.

I needed a new glue gun since my old one was over 10 years old.

They are only $2.99 at Hobby Lobby which then made me wonder why it took me 10 years to get a new one.

I am so very cheap.

Then I spent an hour during nap time on a snowstormy Thursday afternoon doing this:

Gluing my pommies to my wreath and let me tell ya it was so very therapeutic.

I was listening to the likes of Dan Fogelberg and Neil Diamond thanks to soft rock on our cable TV, watching the snow gently fall and gluing my cares away.

I don't know how to knit or sew but after this relaxing crafting afternoon, I am seriously considering taking a class because I so need something like this for myself instead of sitting in front of the DVR during my rare moments of free time deciding whether I should watch Teen Mom 2 (I know, I know.....but it is so terribly, awfully addictive) or Tori and Dean ( I know, I know....but it is so terribly, awfully addictive).....

And when I was done, it looked somethin' like this:

I loved it but felt like it was missin' something...so in typical can't leave well enough alone Kari fashion, I embellished it just a smidgen.

I took some ribbon I had laying around and cut them into different lengths.

And here is the final product!!

And here it is in Instagram!!!!

Isn't Instagram the coolest??

                                       I love the option that makes everything look old timey.

It looks so cool, like I am a real photographer or something.

And it makes every picture, even the most boring picture, look so fab!

For example:

My living room...cool and all but bitchin when you put it in Instagram!

One of my latest creations?

 Yeah, yeah, but in Instagram??

Far out.......

A jar of pom poms?

Cute.

But in Instagram??

4- sho!

It is so abso amazing that it even makes my oldest daughter's messy room look like ....

...da bomb.
