Sorry about the non posting on a Monday.
Apparently it hit a nerve that I didn't post on Monday.
I am ok...sorta.
Got some news on Sunday that I am not ready to share yet but it definitely made me want to take a breather.
And also, I am trying to enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts.....80 degrees for the sixth straight day.
In March.
Unheard of around here.
So anyhoo, I am back...sorta....and here is the basement reveal.
Hope you like it as much as we do.
The basement is finished!
Well, almost finished.....is a room really ever finished entirely?
There is still some tweaking involved here and there but for the most part, it is done.
First, though, lets refresh our memories a little with the before pictures from the original post here.
Oh and yes, I did take the picture when my basement was looking the worst it could possibly look. Just like those people who stick their bellies out when taking before and after weight loss pics and like the Oprah show when they take the pictures of the girl who has no makeup on, greasy hair and overalls ?
Not ashamed to say it, I wanted the reveal to be dramatic.
But I did not toss those toys around myself.
My kids love to make a mess.
Gotta love being me.
Here is the family room area before:
It just looks sad, doesn't it?
The toy area before:
...which had taken over the rest of the basement......
The nook of the family room before:
...again, taken in the night by the toys.....
The office/craft cemetery before:
which usually had some toys in it as well......
The craptastic hall down to the basement before:
Its almost embarassing to look at now.
Sheeeesh....
Here are some during pictures to give you an idea of how the progress went:
And here are the after pics!!
The former toy area turned tween hang out area/office.....
And that desk?
I have plans for that baby too.
It was my childhood desk and I am going to paint it and put new hardware on it.
Later.
I am too exhausted from this project to start it yet.
The former office/craft cemetery turned toy room:
The family room:
Family room nook:
Standing on the steps looking at the family room:
Hallway to basement:
Now with beadboard and a hand made shelf:
And decorated:
And here are the side by sides!!!
And now I am off to take a nap....
I will do a separate post about all the little details next week with prices and my final cost to improve our basement on a budget!

Wow! Great job. It looks like it was a lot of work, but you must be thrilled with the results. I found you via ABFOL. :)
Thanks Ginny.....I keep staring at it every day and thankful that it is all over and done with. :)
Love the remodel! Looks incredible!
I just wanted to pop by and let you know I got the flowers at Trader Joes! They always have great flowers for cheap! I should have mentioned that in my post...but I fixed it now thanks to your comment!
Hope you enjoy your evening!
