Workin' With What Ya Got- Cool Frame Artwork

I titled this post as a Workin' With What Ya Got post but really I didn't work with what I had.
Well, yes I did.
But I was given the items just last week by bestie Rebecca.
So technically, I did work with what I had but had I not been given them by dear bestie, I would not have had them to work with.
Make sense?
No?
Yes?
What day is it??

Sorry.

Anyhoo, Rebecca was going to give some Ikea frames to Goodwill that she bought for her oldest daughter's apartment but I guess didn't need them and asked if I wanted them.

The convo went something like this:

R: I am giving these to.....K: I'LL TAKE THEM!!!

I took the frames home (and may or may not have skipped from the garage to the house with frames in hand....) and knew exactly what I wanted to do with them as soon as I brought them in the house.

So then I hung the frames on the wall.
And I didn't really like it.
                                                                      See below...

See, I am not very gifted in the spatial department.
I never like to hang anything on a wall in a perfectly straight line because I don't like straight lines.
No, that's not it.
                                                             I can't hang straight lines.
I can't even cut straight lines with scissors.
When I used to volunteer for Anna's kindergarten class, the teacher...who I abso love.....would point and laugh at me.
Because the five year olds cut straighter lines than me.
Then she put me on another project, like copying worksheets.....

So I took down the frames and started over again.

I clustered them closer together and love this much better.

What do you think?

I was playing around with all the different tools that Picasa has....

The instagram-ish photo finish.....

Black and white......

I don't remember what this one was....I got a little carried away.

The 1960's finish......

And all it took was a few free to me Ikea frames and some scrapbook paper!

Thanks to bestie Rebecca for the frames!!
:)

Great use for the frames! It's funny...I have scrapbook paper but it has been years since I've scrapbooked anything but I love using the paper for other projects!

Well done! The scrapbook paper provides such pretty patterns and great colors--you're smart to hang it on the wall! How kind of your friend to give you all those frames! :)

Thanks so much for joining Grace at Home! I really appreciate it.
