So very much.
For many reasons but at the top of that list is that it is no longer winter.
Winter isn't for six more months!!!!
So spring is my happy dance season.
And in honor of my happy dance season, lets do a little decorating, shall we?
She was gonna throw this away!!
The hydrangea was one of the centerpieces I made for my wedding almost seven years ago.
I just plopped the centerpiece (got that white planter at Dollar General back 7 years ago. See? Cheap even for my own wedding. ) into the galvanized tin.
But it was too short for the tin so I added a ramekin to the bottom to give it height.
For our dining room table centerpiece, I just used a plant I got at Target for my sister in law's baby shower four years ago (HE IS ALMOST 4?!?!?!) and plopped that on top of the faux grass I got at Goodwill a few years ago.
Add some old Easter eggs I have had (they aren't real Easter eggs, by the way) and two little flowers I also got for the same baby shower at Michael's and voila, I have my go to spring centerpiece.
You are about to meet a very special member of our family.
I don't like to share picture of my family on here but he is close to our hearts and deserves a mention on the blog.
Meet Chuck.
Chuck as in we almost chucked him in the trash 5 or so years ago.
Long story short:
-I bought Chuck at Marshall's or TJ Maxx (not sure which) about 7 years ago.
- I loved his vintagey look
- And so did our then crossbetweenMarmadukeandMarley dog Riley.
- As evidenced by the chunk he took outta Chuck's arm.
-Then a few years later, our then toddler knocked him off the table and his ears cracked in half.
-After some more gluing, his arm came off again in a suspicious basement storage incident.
- I finally told my hubs, leave him be. I like armless Chuck. It gives him character.
He is like a living memento of our crazy, chaotic past.
And I can't wait to pull him out when our youngest begins dating.
Nothing to scare off a would be suitor like a reminder of how terrifying she was as a toddler.
They don't call them suitors anymore, do they?
We are in trouble.
Correction.
I am in trouble.
Hi bunny!
This guy I got at a cute little store in central Illinois when my parents lived there.
The green "rocks" inside him are from Dollar Tree.
A buck for a bag of these.
Ooh I did buy one spring-y thing this year:
I got this banner at Target for six dollars!
A lot less than it would have cost me to ever make it.
And we all know how unskilled at cutting I am.
And this coulda looked pretty horrid if I tried to do this myself.
So accounting for the felt mess, materials and years of therapy, I think 6 bucks is a bargain.
See?
If it SAYS Spring, it must be SPRING.
Yes.
Yes, that's it.
Happy almost Spring!

what a great way to use those moss rocks! And they're such a bargain, I need to pick some up. I like all your little spring touches Kari.

I think my favorite part of your decorations is 'Chuck'! I love it when a single item possesses so many family memories!
And, I LOVE the chalkboard - I have no less than 7896 chalkboard ideas from Pinterest...and I have yet to execute even one.
We are going on Monday to hit up Goodwill stores and my all-time-favorite: Dollar Tree, to give our new home some Spring love! I already have a few things from years passed, but I need/want MORE!
SO, SO happy that SPRING IS HERE!!! :)
Great spring decor!Super cute banner!See ya on Saturday :-)

Ooh! I'm so excited for spring! Love your centerpiece and the pop of color the flowers bring to your door!,
Aw, poor chuck, good for you, keeping him as is. His buddy is pretty cute with the moss rocks in him. Chucks buddy has a cute little handle in case those rocks are too heavy. Your decorations are so cute, enjoyed seeing how you decorated. Everybody has their own special little items to use, makes them so personal and sweet. If i can find the place I'll subscribe. Happy Easter
Leslie- Thank you friend!
Marissa- the BEST place to find an old chalkboard is a flea market but they also have them at Hobby Lobby in the kids craft section!!
Anne- I read your blog this morning and I can't wait to meet you!
Lizzy- this just means we are THAT much closer to meeting baby!!!
I love it. So ummm can you come decorate at my house now? I don't feel like spring is here at all. *sigh*
Michelle - I was thinking the same thing. I totally need her to come decorate my house too!

Out of all the beautiful things and crafty ideas you post on your blog, I FINALLY found something that would be well-suited for our house. Chuck is a Walsh. In case you were wondering. My lost son.
Jeanette- Chuck has plans that night. He wouldn't say with who. I am suspicious.
Emily- thanks for having me! No spring here....snow in forecast.
Lauren- thank you!
Mar- he did say he was Irish....and that he lived in Chicago....hmmmmmm.
