One Word Holiday- Jen

I am loving these posts for many reasons: it is fun and everyone needs a little fun in their life.
Especially when the real world isn’t so fun all the time, am I right?
Plus, getting to know people is really kind of cool.
Most of you might not know my closest family and friends but I think the majority of you have heard the names throughout the years.
Isn’t it nice to be able to see the faces and hear more about them?
I love deeper personal connections….about how my friends really feel about Oprah.

You may remember my friend Jen best from our Bethenny trip.
Laughing in the green room at annoying people, getting drunk mid-day in Manhattan, taking a nap at 5 p.m. in NYC….oh crap that was me.
It was such an amazing experience, so much fun and she was such a great tour guide.
I will forever associate NYC with my good friend, Jen.

Jen’s three beautiful daughters

What one thing about Oprah annoys you the least?

Her hair. It seems pretty fabulous in all its curls lately.

I am with you all the way on this one.

Who is your favorite family member? Why?

My Dad- always and forever-because he was the one person who never judged me and supported me, even when he didn’t fully understand what it was I was doing.

I knew this would be your answer. I still have my golf tee in my nightstand.

What is your favorite blog and why? (not mine)

TIE- Life is a Disco Ball/Airplane Rides and Guacamole Sides. Both Heather and Samantha write from their souls, pouring out the words on the page as if their life depended on it. Sometimes it feels like it does. I admire their bravery immensely.

Links are above to both of the blogs.

What holiday food item would you take a bath in if no one was looking?

Apple pie filling! Yum!

Oh boy. That is good. And sticky.

What one present do you hope to receive this year?

I’d really like new speakers for my car. Not exciting but totally practical.

I am asking for socks so you don’t have to explain practical.

If you only had money to make one holiday dish this season, which one?

My lasagna that the kids love. Everyone can make it- it’s the recipe on the side of the Barilla No Boil Lasagna noodles box, only double the meat used and make it ground pork. Voila!

That is my kind of recipe. And now I want lasagna. At 10:30 in the morning.

What one celebrity is your absolute favorite?

Aaron Sorkin. Hands down. #SorkinRules

I knew this. #Duh

If you could have your own television show, what would YOU give to your guests as your big giveaway?

Whatever THEY needed in their life that would make it better. Some people could use a new car, some groceries for a year- or forever, some a college tuition. I think whatever the particular guest NEEDED to make their life better and easier is what I would provide.

GET THIS WOMAN A TELEVISION SHOW.

What one thing (besides any religious beliefs) is your favorite part of the holiday season?

Pulling out the ornaments. All of my ornaments mean something and come from somewhere. Either they are from my grandmother when I was a little girl, are ornaments that I give my kids every year or are treasures that I have picked up when I visited far away places. No two are alike, nothing is store bought,  and everything is cherished. Decorating the tree is my absolute favorite.

Tree trimming is my favorite part of the season too. That and Rolo cookies.

If you could say one word about my blog, what would it be?

Idiosyncratic

I am laughing right now because I admit, I had to Google the word. It means individualistic, distinctive and unique. That is me to a tee.

Thank you my friend for helping me celebrate another day of the holiday season with the sharing of you.
Head over to Jen’s blog Me, Myself and Jen to get to know her even more.
