Dill Pickle and Ham Dip is the Best Thing Since Dill Pickle and Ham Dip

Appetizer, dill pickle, ham, dip

I enjoy eating. This should come as no surprise to anyone who knows me.

But I LOVE appetizers.

I want to have a long, sordid, and steamy threesome with Reuben egg rolls, guacamole, and queso.

And maybe a paltry affair on the side with some cheese fries topped with bacon and sour cream.

I’m sorry, what were we saying?

Appetizers! Yes!

So when I come across a new appetizer recipe, I jump all over it like a middle-aged blogger on a plate of cheese fries with bacon, sour cream, and green onions.

I’m sorry, what were we saying?

Appetizers! Yes!

Do you remember those yummy appetizers where you’d take a piece of ham, smear it with cream cheese, then roll a pickle in it? Then cut it up into little dainty chunks and stab with toothpicks?

This, however, eliminates those steps. Specifically, the process of cutting into bite-size pieces and holding them together with a toothpick.

I didn’t say I liked to make my appetizers! Just eat them.

If you liked the original appetizer, you’ll love it as a dip.

Dill Pickle and Ham Dip

1/2 jar of dill pickles (Claussen is my favorite for this recipe), chopped

1 package of ham lunchmeat (Hormel nitrate-free smoked ham is my favorite, chopped

1-8-ounce package of cream cheese, softened

Garlic powder, to taste

Club crackers, vegetables to dip

Stir everything together in a medium-sized mixing bowl until combined. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with crackers and veggies.

Enjoy!

  1. I love those ham and pickle roll-ups…I’ve never made them myself (because I would eat all of them), but I have a friend who makes them for every party she has. So, I can only imagine how delicious your dip is. I’ll definitely have to make this next time we have some kind of celebration here. Weekends are celebrations, right?

  2. Maybe I will just crumble the crackers and eat it all with a spoon. Then I will have eaten a BOWL of “salad”-sounds reasonable, almost dainty even!

  3. That looks delicious. Great twist on those rolled up pickle things.

    1. It’s an oldie but a goodie! I still love to take a piece of ham, pickle and cream cheese for a snack. When I was doing a low-carb diet, it was a perfect snack! Thank you for visiting!
