Sweetened Saltines aka Brickle

  • saltine crackers
  • 2 sticks of butter not margarine
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. chocolate chips


  1. Melt the butter and brown sugar in a sauce pan.
  2. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  3. Place saltines on parchment paper lined cookie sheet, making sure the crackers don't overlap.
  4. Pour melted butter/brown sugar mixture over crackers.
  5. Place in oven for 5 minutes.
  6. Take out of oven and toss chocolate chips on top of crackers and let sit for a few minutes to melt.
  7. Spread chocolate chips onto the crackers.
  8. Place in freezer for 15 minutes.
  9. Then break into bite size pieces.
